About Improvisation Classes

Read about the techniques of free improvisation. It's not a style, because it's free and open and can be anything that makes musical sense to you.

Schedule for 2010

Improv Class - 6:00pm Thursdays. Amateurs, performing musicians and students who have learned a few scales are all welcome. For the fall there will be one group only due to room availability.

Individual private lessons - call to schedule

Classes are at the Lexington Music School, Monroe Center for the Arts, 1403 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA 781-863-8484

Prices, payment and policies

Pay by the month, according to the number of classes or lessons you plan on attending:

$30 for private improv lessons

$25 for group classes

$20 each when you bring a friend

Please give 24-hour notice if you will miss a lesson or class, if possible. Make-up lessons at the teacher's availability and discretion. A credit can be applied to a future class.

Annual Registration fees

$25 for Lexington Music School

$25 for Munroe Center for the Arts building maintenance fee (if you take other classes there, you only pay this fee once)
