Feel free to double the parts so everyone in your group can participate.<\/p>\n<p>The music is gentle and conversational. You might imagine a gathering of like-minded people who enjoy a friendly discussion. There are debates and repartee, clever quips and eloquent reflections. The music culminates in a deeply felt accord as all the musicians play a unison melody.<\/p>\n<p>The tessitura of horn 1 is a little high, but still comfortable. Esprit de Cor, for whom I made the adaptation, performed Among Friends as an octet, doubling the parts.
